Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of H3 — Hand, Head, Heart as Design Operating System (“the book”, “we”, “us”) at h3.madebychocaholic.com. By signing in, reading, or making a purchase, you agree to them.

This is a personal publishing project, not a company. The author is Fares Farhan, based in Indonesia.

1. Who we are

The book is operated by Fares Farhan as a sole proprietor. Contact: f@madebychocaholic.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the book. By signing in you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

To read the book you sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your Google account secure.
• Activity that happens under your sign-in.
• Telling us at f@madebychocaholic.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

Don’t share your password. You may read the book on any device you sign in to with your own Google account.

4. What you get

The book is delivered as a web reading experience at h3.madebychocaholic.com. Two access tiers:

• Free — front matter (Preface, Lineage, Introduction) and Chapter 1.
• Full access — the entire book, the practical tools, and any future supplementary material.

You also get features layered on top of the reading experience: highlights, notes, reading progress sync across devices, and the ability to export your highlights via email request.

We do not promise any specific feature will remain available forever, but we won’t remove features without notice.

5. Purchases

When payments launch:

• Full access is sold as a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, no recurring billing, no auto-renewal.
• Prices are shown in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) for Indonesian readers and US Dollars (USD) for international readers, depending on geography and your selected payment method.
• Taxes (VAT, GST) are included in the displayed price unless stated otherwise.
• Payment processing is handled by Xendit (for Indonesian methods) and PayPal (international). We do not store your card or bank details.
• Once payment completes, your account is upgraded to Full access immediately. If for any reason this does not happen within an hour, email us and we will resolve it manually.

6. Refunds

You may request a refund within 7 days of purchase, no reason needed, by emailing f@madebychocaholic.com. We will refund through the original payment method within 14 days. After 7 days, refunds are at our discretion.

We may decline refunds if we observe misuse — for example, immediate refund requests after extracting all paid content.

7. Acceptable use

When using the book, you agree not to:

• Share your password with anyone.
• Republish, redistribute, or resell the book’s content (chapters, tools, illustrations) in whole or substantial part.
• Scrape, mirror, or systematically download the content beyond what a reader naturally accesses.
• Reverse engineer or attempt to bypass the paid-content gate.
• Use the book to harass, defame, or harm others.
• Submit content (highlights, notes, comments — when comments launch) that is illegal, infringing, or designed to harm others.

You may quote short passages with attribution for review, criticism, education, or commentary — fair use applies as it does for any published book.

8. Intellectual property

All content of the book — text, illustrations, frameworks, the “H3 Design Operating System” name, and the practical tools T01–T06 — is © 2026 Fares Farhan. All rights reserved.

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read the book and use the tools for your own practice and your own team. It does not grant you the right to redistribute, sublicense, or use the content as the basis for a derivative product.

The frameworks (Hand · Head · Heart, π-shaped designer, Six Levels, etc.) describe ideas and patterns — you are free to apply them in your own work, teach them in your own context, and reference them. You may not republish the book’s specific articulation of them.

9. Your content

Highlights, notes, and (when comments launch) comments you create remain yours. By creating them, you grant us a limited licence to store and display them back to you across your devices. We do not display your private highlights or notes to other users.

If we ever launch a public-comments feature, you will be told clearly which content is public versus private at the time of submission.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the book continuously available but make no uptime guarantee. The site may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

We may update the book — fix typos, add chapters, revise tools, improve prose — at any time. Substantive content changes will be noted in the changelog.

We may withdraw the book entirely with reasonable notice. If the book is permanently withdrawn within 12 months of your purchase, you can request a full refund.

11. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms — particularly section 7 (acceptable use). Where possible we will give you a chance to remedy the breach first.

You may delete your account any time by emailing f@madebychocaholic.com.

If we terminate your account for breach, you are not entitled to a refund.

12. Disclaimer

The book is provided “as is”. The frameworks and tools are based on the author’s professional experience and reading; they are offered as material to think with, not as guaranteed outcomes for your specific situation.

We do not warrant that the book is error-free, that it will meet your specific career or business needs, or that any particular result will follow from applying it.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the book is limited to IDR 1,500,000.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages — including lost profits, lost business, or career outcomes that did or did not happen.

These limitations do not apply where the law does not allow them to apply.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will:

• Update the “Last updated” date above.
• For material changes affecting paid users, email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

If you don’t agree with a change, your remedy is to stop using the book and request a refund (subject to section 6).

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

If a dispute arises, you and we agree to first try to resolve it informally by email for at least 30 days. If we can’t resolve it informally:

• For Indonesian users: disputes go to the courts of Bandung, Indonesia.
• For international users: you may also choose to bring claims in your local jurisdiction where applicable consumer law gives you that right.

16. Severability

If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
